We don’t think twice about photographing the biggest moments in our lives.
Weddings, birthdays, and family celebrations are all carefully documented, yet one of the most life-changing days of all is so often left only to memory.
Every birth is different.
Every family has their own story, their own journey, and their own way of welcoming a new little person into the world.
For the person giving birth especially, much of the day can become a blur.
While you’re focused on bringing your baby into the world, so much love is unfolding around you.
Some of the most meaningful moments are often the ones you never even realise are happening until you return to them through your photographs.
Birth photography allows you to remember not only the moment you finally meet your baby, but everything that brought you there.
Every birth I photograph reminds me that no two stories are ever the same.
Sometimes the room is full of laughter.
Sometimes it’s quiet and focused.
Sometimes there are tears, overwhelming relief, or the kind of joy that simply can’t be put into words.
I find myself drawn to the moments in between.
A partner squeezing your hand.
A reassuring smile from your midwife.
The first cry.
The way you look at your baby for the very first time.
The tiny details you can’t stop taking in.
Those first cuddles, first feeds, and the quiet golden hour afterwards, when the world seems to slow down and your new chapter begins.
One of the biggest concerns I hear is whether having another person in the room will feel distracting.
My approach is calm, respectful, and quietly observant.
I’m there to document your story as it naturally unfolds, never to interrupt it.
Many families tell me afterwards that they barely noticed I was there.
I work alongside your partner and care team, fitting naturally into the space while offering gentle encouragement and support whenever it’s needed.
Your comfort, privacy, and sense of safety will always come first.
Whether your baby is born at home, in hospital, or by caesarean birth, my priority is creating photographs that honour your experience with care and respect.
There is no right way to give birth, and there is no one story that matters more than another.

What if I go into labour during the night?
That’s exactly what I’m on call for.
From 38 weeks until your baby arrives, I’m available day and night so I can be there whenever your story begins.
Birth doesn’t work to a schedule—and neither do I.
What if my birth doesn't go to plan?
Birth rarely follows a script.
And that’s okay.
Whether your birth is spontaneous, induced, a caesarean birth, or anything in between, your story deserves to be remembered exactly as it unfolds.
There is no “right” birth story.
Only yours.
If you have to be transferred, Ill follow. If you end up in theatre, I’ll follow. I’ll be there to document your story every step of the way.
The only time I can’t unfortunately capture a birth is if a General Anaesthetic C Section is needed.
Will I have to share my photographs?
Absolutely not.
Your photographs are yours.
Many families choose to keep their birth gallery completely private, and I will never share your images without your permission.
That said, I absolutely love sharing birth stories whenever families are happy for me to.
Every photograph helps normalise birth, celebrate its strength, and show other families just how beautiful birth photography can be.
If there are any images you’re comfortable allowing me to share, it truly means the world.
What if I end up having a caesarean birth?
Your story is still your story.
Whether your birth unfolds exactly as planned or changes unexpectedly, it deserves to be documented with the same care, respect, and compassion.
The way your baby enters the world doesn’t make your story any less meaningful.
How do I book?
Reach out via email and we can start talking dates! I do only take on 1-2 on call births per month. From there, to confirm your spot, a $250 booking fee and contract is required to confirm your booking. Availability is limited, so to ensure availability I do recommend booking in advance where possible.
