I seek connection, the relationships, the laughs, the fun, the love, the real you. I’m a photographer based in Christchurch but available everywhere.

Weddings

Some days change your life forever.

Long after the cake is gone and the flowers have faded, what remains are the moments you shared and the people who shared them with you.

The laughter, the happy tears, the hugs, the quiet moments, and everything in between.

These photographs become the way you return to the day it all began.

Your wedding day is filled with so many moments you’ll never want to forget.

The excitement while getting ready.

The nerves before seeing each other.

The overwhelming feeling of finally standing together and thinking, we did it.

The celebrations with the people who mean the most, and the quiet moments where you get to step away, take a breath, and realise what’s happening.

It’s not just one big moment that makes a wedding day special.

It’s all the little pieces that make it yours.

My approach to weddings is relaxed, natural, and focused on allowing the day to unfold.

I’m there to gently guide when needed, but also to step back and let the real moments happen.

Because the best photographs often aren’t the ones you planned.

They’re the ones that happen naturally.

The glance across the room.

The hug you didn’t expect.

The laughter with your favourite people.

The quiet moment together when the day finally slows down.

My goal is for you to experience your wedding day fully—to laugh, celebrate, soak it all in, and be surrounded by the people you love, knowing that the moments that matter most are being preserved naturally along the way.

Every wedding day has its own rhythm.

The excitement and anticipation while everyone is getting ready.

The little moments of nerves before everything begins.

The emotion of finally seeing each other and realising, this is actually happening.

Then comes the celebration—the laughter, the hugs, the people surrounding you, and all the moments that make the day uniquely yours.

And somewhere in amongst it all, there are those quieter moments too.

A deep breath together.

A moment to take it all in.

A chance to pause and let it all sink in—you’re finally here.

Those are the moments I love preserving—the ones that bring you straight back to how your wedding day truly felt.

Your wedding photographs aren’t just about remembering what everything looked like.

They’re about remembering how it felt.

The people who stood beside you.

The emotions you felt.

The moments you didn’t even realise were happening.

Years from now, these photographs will bring you back—not just to your wedding day, but to the people, the love, and the feeling that surrounded you.

Your wedding day only happens once.

But the memories you create together will continue long after.

I’d love to help you preserve those moments in a way that feels true to you.

If you’re looking for photographs that capture not just how your wedding day looked, but how it felt, I’d love to hear more about your plans.

Frequently Asked Questions

We're awkward in front of the camera!

Almost every couple says this.

The good news is—you don’t need to know what you’re doing.

I’ll gently guide you whenever you need it, but most of the day is simply about letting you enjoy being together while I quietly document it all.

The goal is never to make you perform.

It’s to help you forget the camera is there.

Or maybe even an engagement session might be on the cards to help you “warm in” to having a camera around too!

Absolutely.

Over the years I’ve photographed enough weddings to know what allows the day to feel relaxed.

I’m always happy to help with timelines, planning portrait time, and making sure everything flows naturally so you can spend more time enjoying your day and less time worrying about the schedule.

Absolutely.

I photograph weddings throughout Canterbury and am always happy to travel further.

If your wedding is outside Christchurch or Selwyn, we’ll simply chat through any travel requirements during the planning process.

Please do!

Some of my favourite wedding moments involve four-legged family members.

If your dog is going to be part of your day, I’d love to include them in your photographs too. My biggest tip if you do decide to do this, is to have someone (a family or friend) around to help look after them!

Reach out via email and we can start talking dates! From there, to confirm your session, a $800 booking fee and contract is required to confirm your booking.  Availability is limited over the wedding season, so to ensure availability I do recommend booking in advance where possible.

No question is ever a silly question! Please reach out via the contact form on the contact page, or send me an email at info@rebeccaclaridge.com and I’ll happily answer more questions.
